Louise Bourgeois, Maman, 1999
Louise Bourgeois Was a French-American Artist Known for Her Sculptures Exploring Memory, the Body, and the Unconscious. Maman is a Monumental Bronze Spider Sculpture, Representing the Strength and Fragility of Bourgeois’s Mother. This Was the First Work to Greet Visitors When Tate Modern Opened in 2000 and in 2025 Returned to Turbine Hall After 25 Years.
